Shannon Haines is a real estate attorney at Sklar Kirsh LLP with extensive experience advising clients on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. Her practice encompasses joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, development, financing, leasing and complex title review across a wide range of asset classes.
Shannon represents sellers, purchasers, borrowers, landlords, tenants, investors and principals in transactions involving office, retail, hospitality, industrial and mixed-use properties. She has negotiated numerous purchase and sale agreements, leases, joint venture agreements and loan documents, and is particularly well versed in the review and analysis of title matters related to commercial real estate. She has also represented clients in acquisitions involving unique ownership structures, including tenants-in-common arrangements designed to facilitate IRS §1031 tax-deferred exchanges.
Drawing on her experience both as an attorney and as a business professional, Shannon brings a practical, balanced perspective to every matter. Prior to entering the legal profession, she worked for TrizecHahn Centers, Inc. in both the disposition and finance departments, where she performed due diligence in connection with the disposition and refinancing of commercial retail shopping centers valued in excess of $100 million. She also served on the disposition team for Trizec’s $2.2 billion portfolio sale of more than 22 regional shopping centers to The Rouse Company and Westfield.
Shannon earned her Juris Doctor from University of San Diego School of Law and her undergraduate degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Accountancy from San Diego State University.
