CARA MUNN, OF COUNSEL

Cara Munn is Of Counsel in Sklar Kirsh LLP’s Real Estate Department, where she advises clients on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, financings and structured finance transactions. Drawing on extensive experience in institutional investment management, capital markets, and real estate advisory, Cara brings a sophisticated understanding of the business and financial considerations underlying complex real estate transactions.

Cara has particular experience in the hospitality sector, having held senior leadership positions at Lowe Enterprises Investors, Savills Studley’s Global Hotel Group, CBRE Hotels Debt and Structured Finance and Bellwether Asset Management. Her experience spans the full spectrum of hospitality investment and finance, including acquisitions, debt and equity investments, capital structuring, loan origination and asset management.

At Lowe Enterprises Investors, Cara managed the firm’s $266 million hotel investment fund before assuming leadership of its hotel lending platform, where she originated and oversaw approximately $825 million in financings across 40 loans and preferred equity investments. During her tenure at Savills Studley and CBRE, she advised hotel owners on financing and capital structure strategies and arranged more than $700 million in financings. She subsequently served as Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Debt Asset Management at Bellwether Asset Management.

Earlier in her career, Cara was an acquisitions associate at Canyon Johnson Urban Funds, where she led the underwriting and transaction documentation for approximately $900 million in investments. Her work included the fund’s $450 million joint investment with Lowe Enterprises in the 1,100-room Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. She began her legal career as an associate in the joint venture and acquisitions practice at Cox, Castle & Nicholson.
